David Foenkinos - Lennon (2010)
Funny fun to read, the turning of a chapter, the author dares to rise up his character has little round glasses against "bastards who write books on (him). mythonnent 300 pages on that (their) relationship so that (he) did cross than 2 minutes. Funny because, unless otherwise disclosed, David Foenkinos never met John Lennon and still manages to make a book (albeit only) 233 pages, a real plunge into the heart of the history and psyche of eyeglasses better known than Christ.
is a John Lennon 35 years old, having been (temporarily) ended his career disheveled found here lying on the couch in the psychologist David Foenkinos to mention his life. From his troubled childhood in England immediately after the war, he met Yoko Ono, to the slums of Hamburg and American stages. A Lennon evokes the corpses dotting the way, those of his mother. her aunt. Pete Best and Brian Epstein, corpses on which he turns for a moment continued unabated on his way to his destiny shooting star blinding pop culture of the twentieth century, dingy squats liverpoliens to luxurious bed ins, groupies Hysterical a notorious Asian lit.
"Everybody said that Yoko broke the Beatles, but the look she has everything screwed up. If it had been received differently, nothing would have happened this way "he told David Foenkinos. With this kind of thinking that can see the story of Lennon in a different way than that which has already been told hundreds of times, that the imagination of Foenkinos shows any interest. Beautifully served by the pen of the author, the confessions of John take a look unique and personal, no one can accuse her of violating his scribe thought or his word. Indeed, the author of Erotic Potential of my Wife, knows his subject on the fingertips and to fan it is, nonetheless sometimes being critical to recognize some of Lennon's errors.
About the band split, Lennon aka David Foenkinos to declare: "My group was not the Beatles but Peace." One of the most striking phrases of this psycho-geography is probably the one where John, aware of its status as a herald of peace, says he "wanted to be able to show (his) genitals at any time, to be not plus a Gandhi or a Luther King could be assassinated. "Superb find the author? Yes and no to the extent that it makes it clear in a footnote of a footnote that this sentence was actually imposed in 69 per Lennon with humor and always so special gifts of clairvoyance rather disturbing. Much of the talent of Foenkinos probably have been able to exhume this statement and have it replaced at that specific location of the star consultations with his psychiatrist. It by cons regret, perhaps, not to find the humor of the Beatles more often disheveled in the pages. But perhaps the office of a therapist is it not the best place for messing full pot. However, we legitimately think that this is not the kind of detail that would have embarrassed Beatle John.
one year break damn mouth (talk to the dead and better yet, make them trust) David Foenkinos pulls out brilliantly combines erudition, imagination and style to a result which, far from the work reserved for crazy fans , will appeal to anyone interested a little bit late in the first of four boys in the wind.
